GUITAR LESSONS

ENQUIRY FORM

Alongside his work as a composer and freelance guitarist, Jonathan teaches guitar. He has been working in education as a 1-1 teacher for over 17 years and has taught well over 100 guitarists from beginner to advanced level. Jonathan believes in tailoring the lessons to the pupil’s needs as he believes that no two pupils are the same.

Jonathan teaches in-person lessons in Bournville, Birmingham, where he offers a high-quality, bespoke 1-1 tuition. Believing that enjoying lessons is the driving force for improvement, Jonathan structures the lessons around styles that inspire each pupil and help them to reach their potential.

Jonathan specialises in Rock, Pop, Jazz (Bebop), Reggae, Latin and Neo Soul styles and will happily teach other styles of music. Jonathan believes that music theory and learning to read music are invaluable tools for the musician and both are taught to pupils.

Jonathan is more than happy to teach grades and holds an 100% pass rate for Rockschool exams. His preference is Rockschool, but Trinity Rock and Pop grades can also be covered. Jonathan can teach both of these examination boards up to a Diploma level. Trinity Classical grades are also covered up to Grade 4. Grades are not a requirement for Jonathan’s pupils, and sitting them is completely up to the pupil.
Jonathan is fully CRB checked and has received safeguard training. Parents/Guardians are also more than welcome to sit in on lessons.
